Year 3

Welcome to Year 3's page all about the wonderful things that we get up to in 3S and 3W.

We are looking forward to a great year with loads of brilliant things going on.

 There was no awards assembly last week.

We are continuing to look at the story of the Egyptian Cinderella and making comparisons between this story and the traditional story of Cinderella.  This week we will be writing our own alternative endings to the story. We will continue to look at different methods for adding and subtracting numbers in our maths lessons.

In Science we are continuing to look at nutrition and diet and learning about what we need to be eating to help us stay healthy. We have been learning all about the 5 different food groups.

We will be continuing to learn about the Ancient Egyptians. Last week we learnt all about the Ancient Egyptian Gods.

PE has now moved to a Wednesday and we will be learning how to play dodgeball.  All children now need to come to school wearing school PE kit on a Wednesday as they will not be getting changed in school.  Children also need to be able to remove their own earrings to be able to take part.  If your child is unable to remove their own earrings they should come to school without earrings on PE days.

We have started a new unit in Art where we are designing and making a canopic jar out of clay.  Children have now used clay to make their jars - they will now be painting their work.

All children have started learning Spanish - last week we developed our understanding of how to introduce ourselves using 'Hola' and 'Buenos Dias'

On Thursday  - 27th November - in exchange for a donation for the Christmas Fayre children can come to school wearing non uniform.

On Friday - 28th November - the whole school will be visiting the Mercury Theatre to watch the pantomime.   This years production is Mother Goose.

All children in year 3 are attending Forest School this half term.
